I've always held a secret wish to play at the Royal Albert Hall. Watching from afar the BBC folk awards staged there, beamed to NZ through the magic of television I imagined myself transported by some enchanted means for the evening.

It would be lovely to feel your arm around me
Dancing to this tune
Though you don’t know who I am from a bar of soap or a jar of jam
I could be there quite soon
Under your perfect moon
There you stand far away in the night when here it’s day
Singing out your song
Meltingly mellifluous, would you think me superfluous
If I harmonised along
Before your adoring throng
You could just say the word and I’d be on the next great big silver bird
Winging my way to you
(Instrumental break)
We’d sing and dance and then I’d float away
As the ray of the new day coloured up the skies
I’d be home by the next sunrise
Wouldn’t it be ... lovely ... lovely ... lovely ... lovely.
